I think we have to establish a new standard. Whenever "journalists" interview someone, they can release any edited form of the interview they want (as they do now), but they have to make the COMPLETE and UNEDITED interview available on request. There are plenty of places like YT or the media's own websites that can host or stream hours of video.

If one reads a wide amount and range of political writing, one soon recognizes familiar bylines. You can soon come to recognize who consistently produces work worth reading and considering, just as one soon recognizes the names who consistently present biased, cliched, predictable slop. @andrewpconnell I briefly sailed aboard a British ship HMS Newcastle. They had at least 2 Chinese onboard, a tailor and a cobbler. The tailor would make the officers custom made shorts like that. They called them "empire builders."

Great novel! After all these years, it holds up. And in a small way, it changed my life.... Adolescent me started reading it.... in the first few pages, got roadblocked by "amanuensis" and "sinecure".... I could have skated past them like we usually do, but something possessed me to resolve then and there that whenever I encounter a word I don't know, I'm gonna stop right then and look it up. Lifelong habit which has bled over into other aspects of life, and served me well.
