We see mistakes as personal failure when most are just common human bugs - confirmation bias, overconfidence, sunk cost etc. The irony? We spend a lifetime feeling defensive about errors that aren't even unique to us.

@kunalb11 True, network effects endure because they are structural. What emotions do is animate that structure. Pride, trust, envy… they are the current that charges the grid.

@PriyankaLahiri_ But when presented with a system that works, we tend to behave differently. Which is what happens when we go abroad. Thoughtfully designed public spaces and infra, clear communication, punctuality - we start realising how much simpler everyday life can be when things just work.

@PriyankaLahiri_ I suspect some part of it has to do with our very relationship with the systems - infrastructure, rules etc. We distrust the system- and maybe rightly so. Unlike other parts of the world, the systems here tend to be unreliable. We work despite, not because of them.
