When I look at a product, my brain runs the movie on its own. The user opening the app. The moment they get their photos. The screen they'd want next. I don't sit down to imagine it. It's just there, playing.

So I changed how I work. I say "I can't explain this yet, but something is off here" out loud, without apology. The explanation usually shows up. The pattern is usually right.

School trained me to distrust this. Show your work, they said. If you can't explain it, you don't know it. So for years I treated my fastest instincts as guesses. By the time I could defend a pattern in words, sometimes the moment had passed.

I've been quietly fixing my tools like this my whole life. Bigger fonts here. A diagram there. Icons where words wobble. This time I'm saying it out loud. If your product hangs meaning on letters that flip, add the picture. Somebody is squinting at your screen right now.
