Stonnington CC has previously said "No protected bicycle lanes have been introduced as these are better used in arterial roads." Seems it also supports children from 14 to 18 years battling the traffic on the arterial road network to get to school:

Stonnington CC says those who benefit from services should contribute proportionately for them. Yet it gives away nearly 30,000 parking permits a year, to park on land owned by the public, free of charge. How is that fair to the 16% of people in Stonnington who do not own car?

Stonnington City Council confirms it has no interest in "separating pedestrians, bicycles and motor vehicles" despite it being Council policy. In answer to a question of the Mayor I received this response on 30 October 2023:
