On World Teacher's Day, we honor the unwavering commitment that teachers have to ensure students can be successful. From purchasing supplies with their own money, to providing extra food & clothing for students, their selflessness is truly remarkable and does not go unnoticed.
July was an incredibly impactful month at The Change Reaction! Thanks to the dedication of our partner organizations, we were able to gift over $600,000 to hardworking Angelenos so they could stay on track. Check out the biggest categories we funded in July.

In a city like LA, it's hard enough to pay all their bills each month. At any given moment an unexpected expense can come up, forcing people to charge a credit card, dip into savings or borrow from family.
Experience the full circle effect of this beautiful story. It doesn't matter where you come from or how much money you have to give. As long as you can be kind, that's the most generous thing you can do.
For $900, this U.S. Navy Veteran was gifted a laptop for her new job by The Change Reaction donors. Now, she can do the work she needs to be a successful employee and be another step closer to a sustainable life!
For $1,200, we reunited this father with his daughter after 8 years. “I appreciate you guys for paying for my dad’s flight and his hotel room. It really meant a lot to me because I hadn’t seen him in 8 years.”

We continually encourage frontline workers to advocate on behalf of their clients unique hardships. When these needs are met, individuals and families can actually focus on moving forward rather than feeling the stress of bills piling up from unexpected emergencies

"Henry completed our logistics class, where he learned computer skills, creating a resume, and employment development. Upon completion, we helped enroll him in trucking school. He has completed the training and is now working driving trucks at $28 an hour."
One way we are starting to see real change in our city is by bringing together our most trusted leaders within each neighborhood and allowing them to work hand in hand and let their voices be heard. The power of collaboration is critical in a city like Los Angeles.

We've had the privilege of uplifting over 500 Angelenos in one week! We are lucky to have vetted partnerships and change agents who work hard to make sure the people they serve stay healthy, fed, and housed.
In one week, we provided gifts to 410 people in Los Angeles. People who are working extremely hard, living paycheck to paycheck, and have critical needs that come up. We keep them on track so those emergencies don’t become catastrophes.
