The joys of being in my 40s is increasing baldness, eyes now needing glasses to read and now enlarged prostate issues. Of course it could be worse. No fun getting older folks. Anything on top of OCD is a kick in the teeth.
I've also been researching diet changes to help with my prostate issue. I also plan to ask the doctor to have a scan because i feel that i want it confirmed rather than going on symptoms. Having to go to the toilet more than no times every night is no fun for my OCD.
Still working on not asking the family for reassurance. It's hard to just stop this habit. However, i have resisted asking many times even if i still ask about the odd occasion.
Will, i braved it. I've been out through evaporation perceived contaminated land and I'm back home 🙏 Went without much hitch.
Only a OCD mind could sense contamination from evaporating water 😕😕
Therapist did suggest when labelling thoughts as OCD to maybe call OCD by a name, like Rodney. I've never done this and prefer to keep it as OCD. I always worry I'll get into some sort of split personality issue if i go round talking about Rodney etc.
Catrostophising at its finest: noticed an item in layby today that i don't like the look of. Spent five minutes looking at it from various angles, photographed it, Google it (don't recommend that!) and leaned over to look closely. Yup, still don't like it. 😫
Private therapist session #3 today. Bit more repeating of concepts but what was re-enforced is that firstly i need to stop any reassurance. I've cut down on this in last week but need to continue to work more on it.

There's no better motivator than success although there's also nothing harder than actually doing tasks. It's a tricky constant battle.
It's not all fantastic though. Still got plenty to get through. No real plan here per se atm.
Another successful day as made it to church for first time in a month. No real issues other than very mild stuff. Powered through. Also finally fixed hoover which has been out of action for a month thanks to help from fam.
Outside twice today. Spurred on with confidence on new shoes. Went to local market to mingle. Went very well. Progress. A long long long way to go though.
Had #2 private therapist session on Wednesday. Went well. Some repeats but therapist is in 70s and I'm very prone to repeats myself! I need to do some homework then i can post here my thoughts and what was suggested to me.
Shoes update: one of the identical pair are ok. Worn them on quick walk. Other pair to be returned.
I've got a parcel coming today with two pairs of identical shoes (yes i purchased two shoes at the weekend too). I'm now nervous about delivery as I have no where to put a parcel that I'm comfortable with. It's quite a dilemma.
Spent £200 on three pairs of shoes and still unsure I'll wear any of them 😭 i see imperfections everywhere. I know though that i need to wear them regardless.
Does anyone else have serious problems with their footwear? I can't find any new shoes i trust to keep me safe 😭😭
NHS update: I'm also being referred for an autism assessment. 2 month wait. I can also try to get one quicker via my doctor apparently which I'll try. Quite what happened to the ADHD assessment i got confused about.

& PIP is not *that* much money - lots of disabled people (including me) rely on it to contribute towards their basic living costs But equally, if people want to spend that on small luxuries that make life bearable, so be it! What anyone spends their money on is not my business
Noone gets £1000s on PIP. I have never met ANYONE whose disability costs are completely covered by PIP. Disability is expensive. PIP is not an out-of-work benefit. It is a disability-makes-life-expensive benefit to level things out just a bit.

Yes okay I admit it some babies and young children are really cute but do I want to birth my own? Absolutely fucking not. Ever.
This is going to sound so sad but my mental health has been SHITE the last few years and I barely go out, but I have three separate outings planned the next two days and that’s massive for me and I’m so proud of myself as I’m actually not stressing 🥰

@MHCspaces If I can't give 2nd chances to others It would be like the equivalent to never giving myself a 2nd chance.
@MHCspaces If there were no second chances, how could we ever grow? Failure is consistent in life, the second chance gives us an opportunity to find a new way to do things and keep going.
@OCD_Guy_UK we also talked about “personifying” the OCD. But what I found more helpful was to imagine it as a TV that I don’t have the remote for. Sometimes there’s scary/annoying/worrying things on the TV. But they aren’t necessarily true and they aren’t necessarily what I think!
