Credit: Elevatestart (IG) Survivors of trauma and abuse overcome all the pain and anger... Eventually. But it takes a lot of time and energy to get to a place of "calm". Peace is what we strive for. However, we never forget the pain and anger.
Moving on after Trauma therapy. I never gave this a thought during healing. The relationship we build with our therapist is a strong and trusting bond. Every day is difficult to take that step forward without the compassionate ‘friend’ by my side. New adventure are here. #csa
20 years ago similar words to these were in my thoughts. It took another 10years to find my trauma therapist. The rest is history. #csa

Life after therapy. Life is being lived day by day. Some part’s struggle not having that external person to just be there. Choices have to be made within a DID system. we miss that warm safe room. It’s not sad when when a trauma survivor decides to move on. #csa

@hi_its_annaleah Dealing with trauma involves a lot of work, a lot of insight, a lot of heavy lifting on so many fronts. There is progress but there is no complete recovery. It’s a life-long work.

When someone discloses child sexual abuse please don’t say: “What exactly did he do?” Or: “Are you sure?” Or: “It was such a long time ago” Or: “You’re wrong” Or: “I would have known if that was happening.” Or: “It could have been worse” (Feel free to add…) #CSA

Many trauma survivors will appear like they have it all together. They often excel at work & other areas. This is survival strategy, when chaos is happening all around you, you learn to survive in its existence. This strategy often works well, until it doesn’t.

often I feel like I was faced with this awful choice of either betraying / abandoning myself so I wouldn't be betrayed / abandoned by others *or* actually being abandoned / betrayed by others. always lose/lose situations. both options were devastating & felt unbearably painful.
NO is a full sentence. You don’t need to offer explanations. If something doesn’t align it is perfectly acceptable for you to say no.
