The report into NHS antisemitism by @LordJohnMann begins with the words: ‘The levels of anti-Jewish racism in the UK constitute a national emergency. The Heaton Park Synagogue attack of 2 October 2025, the abhorrent terrorist, arson and other attacks on members of the Jewish community that took place in April 2026 in Golders Green, and across London all point to a worsening of the situation. No sector is untouched by it. The criminal cases, taken together with the data drawn from the Home Office, from the NHS and from various community organisations, and the cases reported to the General Medical Council and other health and care professional regulators, have highlighted allegations of antisemitic behaviour perpetrated by UK doctors and other healthcare professionals. It is within this context that I was asked to undertake a review into tackling antisemitism in the NHS.’

The NHS has an extremism problem. Jewish patients should not have to worry about whether they will receive proper medical treatment (or worse, if they will be intentionally harmed) because they fear a doctor or nurse may deem them an acceptable target. It is only right that NHS staff leave their political opinions at home, not flaunt them at the bedside. They should not be wearing foreign flags or any other political symbols while at work. Hi @TravelodgeUK, What is going on here? Still no word on why two identifiably Jewish guests were met with a “Free Palestine” message on their television screens when they checked into their room in your London Manor House branch yesterday? Do you provide this sort of greeting for all of your guests, or only the Jewish ones? You need to investigate this at once and ensure that whoever was responsible is fired.

@subversivepsych I sympathise. When I first became ill I pretty much slept solidly for three months. Don’t remember much from that time at all.

Nearly 12 hours sleep. I realise to all the insomniacs this sounds like pure heaven but when you’ve struggled with hypersomnia it’s a worry. Hope I’m not drifting back to my 23 hours a day stage. Wouldn’t be able to work.

A visibly Jewish guest checks into Travelodge Manor House and finds “Free Palestine” displayed on his TV. His friend in another room receives the same message. This is blatant antisemitism. Absolutely disgraceful. Those responsible should be identified, & fired! @TravelodgeUK

Stating people with Long Covid can be cured by “mind body therapies” is akin to saying the condition is all in their head. This article harms the chronic illness community. We endure enough gaslighting & barriers to care as it is. Patients need real treatments, tests & care.

ATTEMPTED ARSON ATTACK – GOLDERS GREEN (02/06/2026) In the early hours of this morning, residents of a block of flats on Bridge Lane, NW11, where the majority of residents are Jewish and many are young families, were alerted by a fire alarm. Residents reported witnessing a suspect deliberately start a fire in a communal stairwell before fleeing when challenged. A resident acted swiftly to extinguish the fire, preventing what could have become a far more serious incident. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Shomrim attended the scene, recovered evidence believed to belong to the suspect, and is assisting @MPSBarnet with CCTV enquiries. Investigations into the motive and full circumstances remain ongoing. Shomrim continues to support those affected and is working closely with police. Anyone with information or relevant CCTV footage is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 986 of 02/06/26, or Shomrim on 0300 999 1234.

“Jew, Jew, Jew.” This is what was reportedly shouted at a group of Jewish schoolgirls taking their exams. Due to an arrangement between Be’er Miriam seminary in Stamford Hill and the nearby New City College (NCC), a group of identifiably Jewish schoolgirls had visited the College to sit their A-Level exams. It was here that they were reportedly targeted on several occasions by NCC students. Other abusive comments were understood to have also been hurled against a cohort of Jewish schoolgirls. One such incident was said to have taken place in the NCC toilets, where someone said: “We’re surprised people like you are allowed into here.” The incident led to a second group of Be’er Miriam students who were sitting their exams at NCC having to be chaperoned by College staff. In an official statement, the Hackney-based NCC said that “when made aware of this incident, we immediately put in place additional measures, in agreement with our partner Jewish school, to provide reassurance to students and parents.” While the College’s swift response is welcome, it is frankly unconscionable that in Britain, in 2026, Jewish teenagers should ever require chaperones to sit their exams. Gold standard care for people with very severe #ME Sadly unique. In most countries patients who can are having to fight to be believed, to prove that it’s not all in their heads. Moderately ill patients become severe by fighting for recognition ‘Awareness’ isn’t nearly enough.

A lot of healthy people only understand illness through temporary experiences. So they compare your permanent condition to the worst flu they’ve had, a bad week, burnout, lack of sleep, stress, etc. And because they recovered from those things, they subconsciously expect you to recover too. That’s why so many people struggle to understand chronic illness. They’re comparing a chapter they moved past to a reality you still live every day.

This is such an incredible thing - though it should be the default in care and available everywhere, it is almost unfathomable to see its existence and the scope of understanding from medical providers! #pwme #longcovid
