@meaning_enjoyer Unfortunately if you are suffering/ slowly recovering from long covid or ME/CFS vaccinations can often tip you back over. In the ME/CFS community people are often advised not to get flu shots etc for this reason. I imagine a lot of long covid sufferers have the same problem.

@alieninsect @stuheritage Ha, I deliberately went and watched it last night after reading that review. So sad that the reviewers sense of wonder wasn’t remotely triggered by it. The Guardian will immediately go against anything with Joe Rogan in it these days. It’s left wing knee-jerk

@made_in_cosmos It’s a phase - it does pass eventually. But it’s totally exhausting while it’s going on. Our first son was unable to play by himself for more than three minutes until he was around five years old. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed by it.

@ElyKreimendahl Several of these people I would definitely describe as extroverts, but they also all seem to have in common what would probably be described as narcissistic personalities. It sort of amuses me to see how wrapped up in themselves thay can be.

@ElyKreimendahl I have several friends, and two family members who seem to increasingly do this as they get older. I actually deliberately don’t interrupt them now to see how long they will go on and if they will eventually ask me how I am. I timed an hour with my brother the other day!

@meekaale It’s a total nightmare - I still feel traumatised from our first child not sleeping for the first three years. Only thing that worked in the end was controlled crying. It’s painful initially but really does work after 3-4 days. We should have done it sooner.

@adampollock They’re rubbish. I had one - it’s extremely dangerous if children are around, difficult to control the temperature and doesn’t produce a very pleasant heat. Bought a modern one - far better.

@QiaochuYuan @the_wilderless This is a poorly formulated question which is clearly biased towards a specific outcome. It’s also culturally biased. If you were to poll Africans instead of Westerners you’d be unlikely to get the same results. You’re just confirming your own beliefs.

@prateeks While I get that this is kind of a joke, it’s nonsense. I’ve been on many many Vipassana and Zen retreats and never discuss them with anyone unless they specifically ask me. The need to broadcast it makes you look like a total narcissist.
