You say there’s no luck involved but did you work hard to be born in a developed country? Luck is always involved. You can just increase ur odds of luck in certain scenarios by taking specific actions. Work hard and be grateful.

My advice to younger people: build a low-maintenance life. Not a small life. Not a boring life. A life that doesn’t require every ounce of your energy to keep it running. Keep your expenses manageable. Be careful what you own, what you commit to, and what you allow to become an obligation. Choose people, work, homes, and routines that leave something of you left over.

If I was starting a home service company from scratch tomorrow I would pick pest control or plumbing over roofing every single time. Roofing is sexy because the ticket sizes are massive. One roof replacement is $15,000 to $25,000. But roofing is feast or famine. You are chasing storms, competing with 40 other roofers for the same insurance jobs, and your revenue resets to zero every single month. Pest control and plumbing have RECURRING revenue built in. A pest control customer pays you $50 to $75 every month for years. A plumber who installs a water heater becomes the first call for every future issue in that house. The best home service businesses are the ones where last year's customers keep paying you while you stack new ones on top.

A roofer in South Florida donated a free roof through a local Habitat for Humanity chapter last year. The charity posted about it on their website with a full backlink to his business. A local news station picked it up. His Facebook got shared over 200 times. That one act of goodwill built more AUTHORITY in Google's eyes than six months of buying links from some random vendor on Fiverr. This works with nonprofits, youth sports leagues, school fundraisers, church community projects. Every single one of these organizations has a website, and most of them will happily link to the businesses that support them. If you want to build real backlinks for your local business, start with your community. Sponsor something meaningful, get the link, and watch what happens to your domain authority over the next 90 days.
people who have their entire family in 1 town/city and then marry someone else nearby have such an insane advantage and genuinely do seem happier than everyone else (for good reason. it's a more natural and normal way to live)
i think the rise in mobility has actually made things more difficult for ppl a lot of families are now totally split up. sibling A in this city, sibling B in that city, sibling C in another country, parents somewhere else. truly terrible for building a large family with roots
95% people cannot sit down and do 4 hours of focused work. If you can do two 4 hour chunks daily of zero distraction work... No social media. No phone. Just the work. In silence. You will become a rich mfer and beat everyone.
Don't get me wrong, babies are hard and sleep deprivation sucks.. but that passes and youre not a victim for doing what literally everyone before you also did with way more responsibilities.
