My Son has held a 4.0 + GPA for 4 years, has a full ride to U of M. He got food poisoning and missed 3 days and now the gym teacher has smeared his record and will not back down. We’ve already had several convos with administration. Petty fuckers.
Been seeing this make the rounds - I agree 100% and just want to add: If children's media is too sanitized - if there's not an ounce of sad/scary/dark/anger/etc - kids will seek it out somewhere else. You might not like where they find it.

My 8 year old did not have school today and so she came to the law school. Halfway through a class that I am teaching, she silently holds this sign in front of her.
My daughter took the bar exam in a second state and just found out she passed. She has court at 3pm so I volunteered to stand in for her so she could go celebrate. She said, “Don’t be ridiculous. I don’t want the judge to think I’m unserious.” So anyway, I’m on my 2nd champagne.
The librarians saw my daughter’s excitement at returning a book into the Dropbox, and they offered to take us on a tour “behind the scenes” to see their conveyor belt system for returned books! She LOVED it!
