My health insurance company has decided that I, an insulin-dependent Type 1 diabetic, only need to test my blood sugar 5 times a day, down from the 6 they previously “allowed” Note to reader: if I only knew my blood sugar at 5 points throughout the day, I’d be dead.
Additional note to reader: my health insurance premiums don’t decrease as a result. I have to pay the same for decreased coverage. In the US, I’m expected to risk my health and life to generate profits for health insurance companies and Phrma.
