PPI - big picture. PPI came in stronger than expected driven by higher insurance costs among other categories. Not a breakout to the upside, but declining trend is leveling off.

@KathyJones Insurance is part of the feedback loop of the inflationary process, often one of the last steps due to regulatory lag (rate increases have to be filed and approved). Insurance increases will lead to margin pressure and further price increase, keeping the feedback loop going.

@KathyJones If you look at the last ten months, the trend looks very similar to the pre-pandemic numbers. Storm in a teacup, IMO.
