There are some center-to-right wing accounts I follow that are more offended by the possibility that some public health sources are over-estimating the death count from Musk carelessly destroying US global health programs than by the core fact that Musk really did carelessly destroy US global health (and bragged about it relentlessly) in a way that clearly killed people. These people know who they are, and they're wrong.

I know it's boring and repetitive to talk about how grossly evil Trump is, but the fact remains: Trump is grossly evil, in a way that's pretty much unprecedented in this country.

@thetomdiego @LinkofSunshine The comment clearly advocates for minority rule by a favored side. The Senate map is “biased” because it doesn’t reflect the will of the people. Dems are hurt because there are many sparsely populated states that elect two GOP senators, despite the country disapproving right now.

If a majority includes “metro areas” then so be it. Parties should not be arbitrarily forced to value less-populated areas above cities. People matter.

In 2028 I will vote for any candidate that sincerely vows to prosecute every last one of these depraved motherfuckers. May history never forget the murderous actions of this deranged and repulsive administration.

When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents. In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much. Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death. If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.

Bukele forced out independent judges, packed the courts with loyalists, then declared a state of emergency that allowed him to arrest and indefinitely detain people without any due process. When we say these guys are advocating for fascist ideas, it’s because they literally are.

One funny implication of the heat map is that conservatives care less about the Nation than liberals, which does check out given the way they’re governing

To be clear, loan forgiveness will never happen again because Biden took a significant political hit for doing it, and then the beneficiaries didn't just not vote for him - they actively campaigned against him because they are the dumbest, vainest mfers that ever lived.

My daughter will get screwed. I am not sure how young people are supposed to afford these higher loan payments. This is gonna be a big issue come 2028. Loan Forgiveness is not happening ever again, so don’t even mention it.

Donald Trump, a weak and dangerously reckless president, has put the United States on a path to a war in the Middle East that the country does not want, the law does not allow, and our security does not demand. Our president knows nothing about history. And history tells us that the United States' hubris about the efficacy of military action in the Middle East is almost universally wrong. Trump has been goaded into these strikes by the perpetual cheerleaders of war in the Middle East - the people who know how to start conflicts there but never know how to end them, and the people who profit - politically and financially - from endless war. I've been briefed on the intelligence - there is no evidence Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States. That makes this attack illegal. Only Congress can declare preemptive war, and we should vote as soon as possible on legislation to explicitly deny President Trump the authorization to drag us into a conflict in Middle East that could get countless Americans killed and waste trillions of dollars. All my thoughts tonight are for the safety of our personnel in the region.

Trump has done *a lot* of criminal, horrible, impeachable shit. But, if the Trump administration fails to return Garcia, or if any harm has come to him, it will be hands down the most illegal and deplorable action of any US president. Let's be clear: -Garcia, while a minor, fled gang targeting in El Salvador and illegally entered the US. -While here, he eventually married a US citizen, testified against the Barrio 18 gang (even though it risked him being deported) and attempted asylum claims. -In 2019, he was granted a "Withholding of Removal" and a work permit and so was living in Maryland legally. -Whenever you are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, whether legally or illegally, you have inalienable rights - the very ones the President's oath of office claims to uphold and defend. -Garcia was arrested on suspicion of gang activity, and departed with foreign prisons in El Salvador. The problem is: -There was no proof given. -He had a "Withholding of Removal" which meant he could not be deported. -The government argued they were aware of this withholding order but that he had been departed "by mistake" without any further hearing in court. Courts had ordered the planes turnaround, an order which according to a passenger affidavit the pilots were aware of, but they were given instructions to ignore. A Maryland court ordered him returned by no later than April 7th. The government failed to return him. The Supreme Court reviewed the case on April 10th and unanimously ordered that the US government must facilitate Garcia's return. Since then Trump's administration has continued to play games, making excuses of why he cannot be returned, or failing to give updates - with many speculating that Garcia, who testified against gangs he was now in prison with, may not even be alive any more. At the direction of the President: -People subject to US jurisdiction were rounded up and deported without time for habeas hearings. -Including *legal* US residents, against a judges order, who are subject to all rights and protections within the United States. -Instructions to return the plane were ignored. -Instructions from a state court were ignored. -Now the Supreme Court has been ignored. And the President who is supposed to be the most powerful man in the world, who has a duty to defend and protect those subject to US jurisdiction from wrong-doing, claims that he can't get this man back from El Salvador. If any harm has come to Garcia, it is blood on the President's hands. The protections he has ignored would have led to the direct harm of a US resident. And it will forever be a stain on America, this shameful president, and on the court of John Roberts who allowed for a tyrant to exercise such authorities so repeatedly unchecked.
