Sadly during major sports tournaments there is a history of increased domestic abuse. Women are too often victims of abusive behaviour and violence. This is wrong. It is criminal. Let’s take measures and actions to prevent and tackle domestic violence during this World Cup.

This is a very welcome initiative and strengthens the rights of victims and survivors of domestic abuse. They will have the right to meet their @CPSUK prosecution team before trials. Tackling violence against women and children must be and is a core mission for police and CPS.
Victims of domestic abuse will now meet their prosecution team before trial — with a dedicated @CPSUK liaison officer supporting them every step of the way. A key takeaway from the Solicitor General @elliereeves in the House of Commons yesterday.
Bedford Eid Festival is a great celebration of Bedford community’s diversity and cohesion. It was good to visit today. I thanked @EidInBedford for organising this great community event and @bedspolice officers in attendance. Rain is not dampening the enjoyment. Go tomorrow when it should be sunny.
There is a great atmosphere at @PBICBedford’s AGM today. PBIC is an amazing charity supporting East European residents living in Bedford and the wider county. I am pleased to partner with and support the charity financially. It was a privilege to speak and say “thank you”.

The other thing about Vance's comments. It's not that he's just being divisive in general. He's specifically targeting the Sikh community. And as the Times reports this morning, members of that community are now being subjected to serious racism in Southampton.
