There are actually *no* programming languages that express "how computers work"! Not even C. The operating system runs other programs 'between' your lines. CPUs execute both branches of ifs, and magically run multiple lines of your code at once. Your code is just a suggestion

Last year, after days of some mild pain, we managed to update to Xcode 15.1. The day after we had to roll back to 14.3.1. Yesterday, after months of excruciating pain, we managed to update to 15.3. Today, we've learned we have to downgrade to 15.2. This is all because of Apple.
