As I embark on this journey for the position of WHO AFRO @WHOAFRO Regional Director, I reflect on my lifelong commitment to strengthening healthcare systems, advancing universal health coverage, and fostering innovation in Africa. From leading Tanzania’s largest hospital and health systems to shaping public health and nutrition policies and regional collaborations, my mission has always been clear—building a resilient, self-reliant, and healthier Africa. Going through Prof @moddyyakubu Manifesto, I was so impressed and moved to see his vision on building resilient and strong Health care systems in Africa. He clearly highlighted the actions that member states will have to take in ensuring global health security and integration of one health approach. He recognize the threat of #AntimicrobialResistance and the need for data to inform our practices and policies as well as good surveillance system.
