Fayzullaev goal was a great moment for Uzbekistan. They also pushed Colombia. Being at World Cup already a wonderful reward for their work in the game over the years. Lucky enough to visit a few years ago & had a glimpse of the project. Delighted for them & the people involved.
I come back to this speech every once in a while:
“in the 1,526 singles matches I played in my career, I won almost 80% of those matches
… what percentage of points do you think I won in those matches?
only 54%.”
Honestly think the Lions did pretty decent today.
Just lacked cutting edge in the final third especially in the first 45, and were punished by a physically strong team which took their chances well.
Consistent with the broader body of research, this study found that training with a moderate proximity to failure (20% velocity loss) produced the greatest strength gains, whereas training closer to failure (40% velocity loss) elicited the largest increases in muscle size.
Take-home message: Proximity to failure appears to be goal-dependent. Training closer to failure becomes increasingly important when the primary objective is maximizing hypertrophy, whereas strength development may be optimized by stopping sets somewhat further from failure.

@skalskip92 You might not believe it, but I simply manually annotated over 2,000,000 human body parts with ultra-precise detail. Probably no one else could do that.
For the upcoming friendlies at JBS, it'll be kinda great if there's a rendition of Home being sung, similar to the previous ACQ game. I quite liked that extra "Singaporean" touch.
But fans also have to be there early before kickoff, not queuing to enter 😅
Two more weeks to the end of Year 2 Sem 1.
Nearing the 75% mark of my Masters journey!
Sem 2: No classes, just thesis writing. Perhaps I should start looking for a job soon...😅😂
🇹🇯: Second in their group. Made their knockout stage debut in that tournament, winning UAE on penalties to make it to the QF. Exited after falling to Jordan 0-1.
2023 Asian Cup
🇦🇺: Topped their group undefeated, then won Indonesia in R16 (4-0). Bowed out after a 1-2 loss to South Korea in the QF.
🇮🇶: Won all their group matches, bowed out in the R16 after 1-2 loss to Jordan.
Both are WC2026 teams & were former Asian Cup champs
This is pretty cool! Getting to play as your nation on the game. Another benefit of Singapore qualifying. Last time I was able to play a game with Singapore’s national team was FIFA 98 Road to World Cup. Had Sundram and Fandi etc.
Just realised that it has been just over a year since Forrest Li and his team were elected on April 28, 2025 as the new FAS Council for the 2025-2029 term.
What positive changes have we seen?
What barriers are being faced?
What more can we look forward to?
