Disappointing performance by England so far (they did better when they were 2 men down) Wales aren't brilliant but they are making fewer errors and have actually taken a few decent chances #ENGvWAL

When people criticize politicians for being out of touch, privileged, clueless, tone deaf, call it what you will, this - I would submit - is a prime example of what those critics are talking about, and with 100% justification.
So you get one of these illnesses that just about everybody in the country has had, often multiple times, in recent years, and suddenly you're part of a "sick note culture" because the dimwit government requires you to get a note. Rishi, STFU and get in the fucking sea, will you?
So let's say you get flu or COVID, or norovirus, and you're ill for a week: you're supposed to get a fit note from the doctor for your employer. That's the bloody government's rule, not your employer's rule.
That would be 1/3 of the UK workforce. Also employees are required to get a "fit note" (known as a sick note to us normies) if they're ill for more than 7 days consecutively. That includes weekends.
(And, yes, I saw the top line figure of 11 million sign offs, but it would defy credibility to imagine that the devil isn't in the detail there. Starting with the most obvious point: in no way were 11 million individuals, nor anywhere close to that number, signed off last year.)
Been working (post-graduation) for 24 years now. I have *no idea* what this "sick note culture" is: bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…. In my experience of colleagues being signed off work it's because they've really needed to be signed off work. This is deranged and *does* lack compassion.
@IJohnson_TNF I personally think it's just culture war stuff and they're trying to win votes by rallying against some imaginary "other"
