The experiment of rising inequality has also already been run. Social fabric breaks when the gap becomes too wide. Socialism, as you know, has wider breadth than the Communist countries you list. Nordic countries are socialist…you’re being uncharacteristically sensationalist. Early 21st century capitalism has not worked for the lower middle class. AI is unlikely to close the gap at scale. Mamdani is the canary. Outright dismissal of his song will only strengthen the reaction that inevitably comes. Realistically, we cannot all be a nation of owners, it’s a noble dream but not going to happen without changing some of the rules of the game (ex: take a loan against stock, defer Cap Gains, live 25% above your post-tax means). Life is hard for a lot of people and we, the “haves” , owe them better than telling them there is no need to redistribute if they all just become founders.
