We normally ignore balance sheets since we don't get the point of them except when we short banks that are down 90% and we believe the market doesn't understand that they are in trouble $FRC

It is delusional to buy $FRC at $23 now but quite rational to buy it at $192 for its high quality deposit base and fantastic management team while shorting it now at $23 because regional banks are toast

During up years, we ascribe returns to our disciplined and differentiated investment process. In down years, we ascribe returns to the Fed and the short-termism of the market. So there really is never a rational justification for why an investor should redeem from our fund.
