Listened to a podcast today and heard a quote that stuck with me:
“Why would you be confident in something you’ve never done before?”
So much of sales—and sales content—is centered around confidence.
But I think vulnerability matters too.
You’re not supposed to be an expert on day one.
You’re not supposed to have all the answers.
Trying new things is uncomfortable.
That’s the price of growth.
Don’t look at people ahead of you and assume they were born at the top of the mountain.
They started where you are.
They struggled.
They learned.
They kept going.
Take the first step 🫡
I got lucky.
Not because I landed a tech sales job.
Because I found people willing to answer my questions when I knew absolutely nothing.
The right network can completely change your career.
Mine certainly did.
If you’re looking to accelerate your growth, details below.
W feeling getting this notification that my walking and running trends have changed.
10k steps minimum day 18.
Ya boy needs a quick walk tho we slacking rn
@SaaSdownunder Saying “this is Draper, calling about business” is the best I’ve gotten, sparks some people’s curiosity enough to answer.
But can’t say it’s 100 percent or even close. Those things are diabolical
I use power dialer for that exact reason. Will only dial one person at a time, but automatically rolls right into the next one if you don’t connect.
I like doing that and pausing the dialer when having a conversation.
That I have time to take notes and reset after a conversation and get back to it.
Parallel dialer is the one that calls like 3 prospects at once. I’ve personally never used that.
I wonder how much sales leaders value their dialer.
Dial anxiety is a very real thing, especially for new reps.
The ability to auto parallel dial or power dial removes so much friction.
Anxiety can’t hit a moving target.
The next call is already ringing.
The fastest way to compress years of learning into months:
Get in rooms with people who are ahead of you.
Not YouTube.
Not random LinkedIn posts.
Actual conversations with people doing the thing you want to do.
It’s changed my career trajectory more than any book, course, or podcast.
More below.
@SalesPsych0 Great minds think a like. It’s been on my mind, my setup up is kinda small rn which is why I e hesitated. Might be pulling the trigger soon tho
