@UtahPigBus Yeah, I think the “fairness” part is the hardest. For me (white) I’ve never felt the pain of that word, so I honestly don’t know what a “fair” consequence is. I get worried I underestimate the pain that was/is felt, so It’s hard for me to know what is fair.

@UtahPigBus Yeah I fully agree. I wish it wouldn’t be the case and more importantly I wish he would’ve never felt it was okay to use that word. Nobody wins, everyone loses in this case.

@Jonnybgbold He was a grown man when he sent that text. Eventually forgiveness will happen, but when you skip right to forgiveness you forget to show compassion for the victim. Morgan is not the victim here, he is the perpetrator.

@UtahPigBus Pretty sure a few players have spoken to this. Former Utes. As well as our AD who has taken appropriate action. Their opinions are as valid as any other current or former Ute player. Morgan is accepting of his consequence and so should you.

@lmjigsaw @x_hems @kslsports Morgan was in his 30’s. A grown man with a family, in a leadership position, in a predominantly African American sport. He knew better, but he chose to use a word we all know is unacceptable anyway. No excuse.

I’m just trying these days to be more focused on understanding the pain caused by this stuff, and being compassionate to those who feel it, rather than those who caused it.

@amccullough105 Thank you for good convo, what I mean is we as fan bases are good with things until it hits “our” team, or “our” players. Then suddenly people look to rationalize or minimize. Feels more like I shldnt throw you into that bc you seem very rationale and perhaps I misinterpreted u

@amccullough105 It feels disingenuous (personally with my personal interaction with Morgan I feel strongly he is genuine) but I can’t deny others they’re feelings, especially those that feel the full weight of that word.
