@blackbelt392299 @dalibali2 Well, don't you think you know a fat person when you see them? Don't you know if you're fat? That's all I'm talking about. This isn't complicated. The studies use BMI but we all know what we mean by someone who's fat. So stop playing games.

@asyncze @blackbelt392299 @dalibali2 That's true, but it's also a rough measure of fat for most people. And this is how most of the studies are talking about. But we're talking about people who are actually fat but they're fit.

A cardiologist there named Mercedes Carnethon pulled five long-running cohort studies and looked at people who developed diabetes during follow-up. She wanted to know: once you have diabetes, does your weight predict how long you live? She got data on 2,625 people who developed diabetes during the studies. Then she sorted them by what they weighed AT diagnosis. Normal-weight diabetics. Overweight or obese diabetics. Then she counted deaths. Normal-weight diabetics died at a rate of 285 per 10,000 person-years. Overweight and obese diabetics died at a rate of 152 per 10,000 person-years. The thin diabetics died at twice the rate of the fat diabetics.

@gregisenberg The nastiest pitches are to a room full of different VCs. They're nasty, brutish. It's horrible. VCs have enormous egos, just enormous. That's what makes Shark Tank successful. People love witnessing these traffic accidents.
