Thought the same thing, was none of this thought about this ahead of time? This is why patio home developments are popular. Most sell their house and move into one where exterior maintenance is shared and spread out through monthly or yearly payments and managed by an association. This leaves you with just interior maintenance. Sounds like guy didn’t plan for any of it and just let maintenance go and now it’s hitting all at once.

My 11 year old diesel that has been driven exactly like you described with 250k miles on it has never had a 6000 repair bill. It gets around 18mpg and sees very little highway use. I personally think the opposite of what you said, throw in moving trailers around and it’s been the best value vehicle I’ve ever had. I was switching gassers every 2-3 years prior.

Yup mine is a work truck as well, 2015 Cummins. Has pulled trailers around city and rural surroundings all its life. Very little highway. Lifted on 35’s but would still take on long road trip it’s still that reliable. Pretty much after 2016ish they all went to hell with all the electric modules. Bought it brand new and motor has never been worked on and still blows cold air.

@BEisenhart In my 20’s I knew another kid that had the cool boat and he paid like 120k for it. Shared an apartment with 3 guys and parked the boat at his parents house. It was his complete identity and we’d always laugh because we all knew the payments were like 75% of his income.
