We all make mistakes. That is part of being human. When we do, just apologize. Do not make excuses. Do not try to justify what happened. A simple, sincere apology can mean more than a long explanation. Almost all good people are willing to forgive when they believe our apology is genuine and our regret is real. What matters is not perfection. What matters is ownership. When we take responsibility, we rebuild trust. When we avoid it, we damage relationships that could have been saved. And sometimes, for reasons we may never fully understand, the other person will not forgive us. That is their choice. In those moments, forgive them. Time – Be Ruthless With Your Calendar Time is finite. You can’t make more of it. So the key is prioritization. Schedule your priorities—don’t just prioritize your schedule. Block time each day for your biggest needle-movers—your "most important work." This could be training, strategy, or family dinner. If it matters, it belongs on your calendar. Use time-blocking with non-negotiable “focus blocks” for deep work. Protect them like gold. 2. Attention – Win the Focus Game In a world of dings, pings, and notifications, your attention is under siege. Attention isn’t just about avoiding distraction—it’s about intentionally choosing what matters now. Start your day with clarity. Before you check your phone or email, take five minutes to set your intention: What are my top 1–2 outcomes for the day? Turn off push notifications. Choose when you check your phone—don’t let it choose for you. 3. Energy – Manage It Like a Pro Athlete Your energy isn’t unlimited, and willpower fades. The best performers don’t work more—they recover better. Prioritize sleep, nutrition, movement, and micro-recovery throughout the day. Schedule 2–3 energy resets during the day—a walk, breathwork, or even 5 minutes away from a screen can help you recharge. You can’t control how much time you get, but you can control how intentionally you use it. Combine that with focused attention and managed energy—and you’ll raise your performance in every area of life.
