My mind has changed on student loan forgiveness b/c of this article alone. Millennials were deceived by their parents, who were deceived by what they believed were the steps towards a being a productive citizen in this idea of a country called the "USA." businessinsider.com/democrats-repu…
I’m 53 so GenX and I attended 2 semesters of University in 1988 before they kicked me out. I spent a ton of time at the library learning computers and was hired by Novell in 1992. By Y2k I broke 6 figures and they sent me to college so they could justify the raise. It was $1k/week for the University of Phoenix and work paid for it. I raised my 3 kids to understand a degree is a leg up but not the end all beat all. My son, working to build cars and overseeing the assembly line shouldn’t pay for a different kid’s degree. My daughter, with many healthcare certifications but no degree, shouldn’t have to pay for another kid’s degree. My third son is traveling the US and world on his own dime currently working a horse farm in TN and shouldn’t pay for not his degree.
@BullheadRanch They shouldn't and they won't if I ever have anything to do with it.
@BullheadRanch @_BarringtonII The US currently has a shortage of doctors, nurses, engineers, and IT professionals. We are currently importing educated foreign labor to fill a lot of these positions. If we don't invest in educating our citizens, foreigners and their kids will get the high paying jobs.
@BullheadRanch @_BarringtonII Well done, I commend your hard work & ability to keep pushing to achieve higher goals. Seriously, I’m being completely genuine when I say this.
