My mind has changed on student loan forgiveness b/c of this article alone. Millennials were deceived by their parents, who were deceived by what they believed were the steps towards a being a productive citizen in this idea of a country called the "USA." businessinsider.com/democrats-repu…

@_BarringtonII This is a con. The solution is suing the schools. Stealing from tax payers just facilitates the crime.
I’m 53 so GenX and I attended 2 semesters of University in 1988 before they kicked me out. I spent a ton of time at the library learning computers and was hired by Novell in 1992. By Y2k I broke 6 figures and they sent me to college so they could justify the raise. It was $1k/week for the University of Phoenix and work paid for it. I raised my 3 kids to understand a degree is a leg up but not the end all beat all. My son, working to build cars and overseeing the assembly line shouldn’t pay for a different kid’s degree. My daughter, with many healthcare certifications but no degree, shouldn’t have to pay for another kid’s degree. My third son is traveling the US and world on his own dime currently working a horse farm in TN and shouldn’t pay for not his degree.
@_BarringtonII If anything would be fair it would be the universities paying off part of students loans since they got all the student loan $$ up front for often worthless degrees!
@_BarringtonII So blatantly obvious now. I saw it several years ago as well.
@_BarringtonII Wouldn't it make sense for companies to offer paying student loans? Many offer to pay for college. It would be useful if former students could access those same funds for direct student loan payments. I wouldn't give it directly to the students. Thoughts?
@_BarringtonII I owe student loans myself and Student Loan Forgiveness doesn't feel right to me. It feels smarmy. Perhaps it's because I'm a mature person or because I know what I promised to do when I signed.
