The CPanel console shows my file count as ### of infinity. Adding to my confusion when this became an issue, because I would have thought it would have been much higher a limit. But no explanations just more threats to cut me off in a couple of hours. 10 years. Caution
When I reach out I get curt, unhelpful answers that say that I have to bring it down, but they've disabled the site itself, so I can't log in to resolve it in the first place. I CC management because this company used to be really great with support and guidance.
Let me share a story of my Sunday with @stablehost . They reached out because about 72 hours ago they suddenly decided my inode count was unmanageable. (250k+), which is fine. But after a decade as a customer, they suddenly take my site down in just 72 hours. Continued...
They then finally open access up threatening me that I only have 2 hours. Imagine being a loyal customer for 10 years and getting 2 hours to offload a decade's worth of data for some arbitrary count.

I haven't been on here since Lord Farquaad took over. I log in and find @jodipicoult's completely out of touch comments on independent authors and the self-publishing effort... I don't know when I'll log back into this utter dumpster fire of a place.
@Louie_Dobson_ Thank you for this sanity check. I don't know that I could have described it as well. This is a soul draining vortex that I barely check monthly, and it seems that's still too often.
@Dollar_Bank It's surprising when you're used to a level of service from a regional bank over the big national one. That used to be Dollar Bank. But they pulled such a petty overcharge on my wife's account that will lose them 2 customers who have been with them almost a decade.
@helen__chester Try a bit of time. Put it away and try to write a bit of something else for a while and then revisit it. Perhaps? I’ve done it and it *mostly* works. NGL, sometimes it doesn’t but it ALWAYS helps to some degree. I’ll re-read and go “WTF was I thinking?!” 🤣
@helen__chester As for my own work, I generally work quickly on first drafts and that way I gain distance from earlier chapters. I allow weeks sometimes months before I re approach. This is true for both second drafts and editing. It gets me as close as I can to “fresh eyes”. Helps editing.
@helen__chester Somebody already said this, but I edit, both in the professional writing context as well as edit creative work. It’s somewhat easier to edit work that’s not yours, but I’m not saying editing is easy. But it is less challenging if you have a good collaboration with the author.
