“Would you rather set a deadlift PR or be able to play on the floor with your grandkids when you’re 80? You can't have both.” Shelly, coached by my friend @BakerBarbell is 73. Takes a pile of evidence to prove something but only 1 counterexample to disprove, when stated absolutely

If you wanna argue that “she’s 73, not 80!” all I have to say to that is lol
@wolfstrength @BakerBarbell There's no reasoning with people who make absolute statements like this. I can think of at least one other recent example that backfired spectacularly. Something about getting vaccinated.
@wolfstrength @BakerBarbell I’d be willing to bet good money that there’s not a single 80 year old who can deadlift 3 plates but not play on the floor with their grandkids.
@wolfstrength @BakerBarbell Why limit yourself to playing on the floor? With a big 3-lift total, you can dominate your grandkids in all kinds of sports well into their teens.
@wolfstrength @BakerBarbell Why would anyone listen to a doctor when it comes to lifting? It took many thousands of rotator cuff shoulder surgeries to determine they were no more effective than placebo surgeries when following up a decade later.
@wolfstrength @BakerBarbell It's worth noting the OP talks about how one of his main lower body lifts is the RDL while also saying deadlifts are dangerous. Coherence issues all around.
