I think squats and deadlifts are bad for you. Best way to damage your back, shoulders, hips, knees. I bet your MRIs show it too.
Lots of weight lifting bros coming after me already. Listen to the best back doctor in the world talk about deadlifting by watching 8 minutes of this: "Would you rather set a deadlift PR or be able to play on the floor with your grandkids when you are 80? You can't have both..." youtu.be/Z1_sb1auiV8?si…
@sweatystartup lol attia has said many times that he still deadlifts in the 400lb range
@sweatystartup Weird how my back issues went away when I started doing deadlifts and squats multiple times during the week.
This is like the greatest pediatric ophthalmologist in the world saying kids should never go outside because every day a parent brings a child into his clinic because she poked herself in the eye with a stick. I lift heavy regularly with a barbell in the gym so that I can lift heavy things without injury when life occasionally calls for it. I highly recommend deadlifting and squatting. Great exercises. Especially for older folks. youtu.be/ZuH6cPokZdw?fe…
@sweatystartup Yup have heard it personally from multiple top spine surgeons
@sweatystartup I did heavy stuff for my weight in high school and could agree with some of the criticism of deadlift and squat. but in my 30's, 40's, 50's lower weights on squat and deadlift have kept me far healthier and more mobile than most.
@sweatystartup If deadlifts are so good for you why can’t Ronnie Coleman walk?
@sweatystartup Maybe. I just had a hip replacement and while there is no way to know the exact cause, I always wondered if my days of heavy lifting was a contributing factor. Used to DL-Squat mid 400lbs at 165 body weight. I still work out but have no desire to go super heavy.
@sweatystartup Your proctology Dr would agree that squats are bad ...
