@drsimonwilliams Half my team at work is sick (and have been for a while). We all work from home, but there's an optional in-person group lunch this week. Guess who's said they would go? ... And then they continued coughing and sniffling.

@FriedmanJas Oh and at work, in my team of about 10, all the parents of young children say their kid has been coughing or has some sort of pneumonia or respiratory issue. And yet none will ever mention covid or use any protection against it...

@FriedmanJas My apartment building's walls are really thin. The only young kid in the building has been coughing for months now. I often hear the parents too. At the grocery store I hear coughing all around me every time I go, and it was also happening all summer.

@PattyD1946 @RageSheen In my first week at my new job (fortunately I work from home), there were 3 people with symptoms in my team of less than 10 people. And I heard one on another team had been on sick leave for a few years because of Long Covid. 1/2

@terrified_kitty @Autistic_Lia I've seen administrative assistant/technician job listings that are basically just about making sure that meeting notes are clear, that things are filed properly online, etc. They might involve sending emails too. Look into that if it's something you could be interested in.

@terrified_kitty @Autistic_Lia Depending on your skill set and what you'd be comfortable doing: - Customer support (can involve the phone but could be 100% in writing too) - Data entry / data analysis - Anything related to numbers such as basic accounting tasks - Copy-writing if you're good with words

@NeversleepsI @Autistic_Lia I was employed for 15 years because ONE person decided to take a chance on me. Then I got laid off almost a year ago and can't get anything. I feel a big part of employment for us is a stroke of luck. And those that make fun of you now might not always be lucky.

@terrified_kitty @Autistic_Lia There's been a massive return to the office over the past year. Either hybrid with mandatory office days, or fully on site. Even for positions that can be done 100% remote. Sometimes hybrid means you can choose to work 100% remote though, so I'm now including that in my search.

@ShadowDemonGD @Autistic_Lia A lot of them are scams. Others have already been filled, or are just to get a bank of candidates and also to give the impression that the company is growing. It's a mess, and with so many people out of work, every legit offer receives hundreds of applications in a few hours 😭

@microwave_wwx @uncletypewriter I heard there are 2 different forms. One for removal AFTER you've found proof (the form you have), and the other one that says you don't consent. It's the second one you need to use.

@EmilyPennimans @GAintheUSA @NATO_Enthusiast @AzeharaD @alixbugbug Grocery stores are a sensory hell for a lot of people. It takes me hours before/after to get ready mentally and then recover. Once a week is already way too much. They would have to change to be more accessible.

@the_nailguru @alexandrite113 Same in Quebec. I stayed in my town but, every work meeting I had, I'd hear my colleagues talk about where they had gone that weekend. No one enforced anything, we were basically free to go as we pleased.

@MoonPrismOpal @PupJoy1 I heard some job sites copy listings from others and the Apply button does nothing because of that. And there are so many fake job listings too, only to get data. LinkedIn is filled with them. And recruiters don't care about candidates. ...So yeah it's fun to navigate 🙃

@bink55bink @PupJoy1 I got a rejection email saying "you have so much experience, we're convinced you want a more senior role than the one we are looking to fill". No attempt to even talk to me about it, just made assumptions. (I've been unemployed for 6 months now.) Good luck to your dad 💜
