@shrameetweets Maybe @pascal_paillier can enlighten us. If you pick an r larger than n would you still expect encryption/decryption to work?

@shrameetweets Yep, any r in that range works, you just need to pick a new random value in a secure way every time you want to encrypt something. The intuition here is that r just functions to explode the ciphertext space, but if you know the private key you can ignore it during decryption.

I also want something like this for commenting code -- like, I want to disable something that lives in a bunch of different places in my program, so I make up a new comment character & comment them all out with it (then I could, for example, re-enable them all in one shot later)

thinking about crayons where i could pick one up and color a chunk of my code blue, then scroll somewhere else and color a related chunk over there with the same blue then I'd navigate my code by tracing through everything that is a certain color
