Science‑backed productivity method that protects your mental health and builds a sustainable work‑life rhythm.thesustainableproductivity.comJoined March 2026
🍃 Four habits, one filter: Learn in small batches.
→ Match hard work to your energy peak.
→ Check it fits who you want to be.
→ Move one thing that matters.
→ Then a 15min review every Friday.
That is the whole practice.
40% of desk workers received AI workslop in the past month.
📈 Each instance costs about 2h to untangle (BetterUp + Stanford, HBR 2025).
The new productivity skill is not generating faster.
It is the wisdom to not produce it at all.
Your to-do list is a queue of other people's priorities.
The fix:
🎯 one north star per week, tied to a value hypothesis
🗒️ plus a not-doing list with at least three items
Everything new competes with the north star.
Most things should lose.
📋Since Aug 2, human oversight of high-risk AI is law in the EU.
Rubber-stamp reviews will not pass.
What holds up:
→ tiered review
→ error budgets
→ escalation paths
→ audit trails
Human-in-the-loop just became a hard skill, not a checkbox.
Productivity without direction is just speed.
Before you say 'yes' this week, ask once:
Does this fit the person I want to be?
If the answer keeps being 'no', you do not have a time problem.
One aligned 'no' beats ten efficient 'yeses'.

Down in the silo, they shut the generator down to fix it before it breaks.
Your energy is the generator.
Schedule the shutdown before the shutdown schedules you.

Supervising AI all day is work.
🔥 BCG calls it brain fry: 14% of workers already report it (HBR, 2026).
Batch your AI reviews like you batch email.
Spend your peak hours on judgment, not inspection.
Attention is the scarce resource now 🌿
⚡ Stop optimizing your calendar. Audit your energy instead.
Rate it 1 to 5, three times a day, for five days.
Find your peak window.
Move your hardest work into it.
Protect it like a meeting with your CEO.

Everyone is adding AI to go faster.
The edge now is a filter.
🍃 LEAF: Learning, Energy, Alignment, Focus.
One habit per week beats one overhaul per year.
🧪 Week 1: pick one method, test it for 14 days, keep what survives.
When I go into a situation, I try to keep a mindset of baseline optimism.
- When starting the day: It's going to be a good day.
- When meeting someone new: I'm going to like them.
- When trying something challenging: It's going to work out.
Problems will inevitably arise and I'll deal with them as the situation demands, but my preference is to assume I'm on a winning path until proven otherwise.
You don't have a time problem. You have an energy problem. They need opposite solutions.
Match hard work to your peak window. Build an evening shutdown. Protect the core.
The most competitive thing you can do.
Your team has never shipped faster. That's what's keeping you up at night.
Faster shipping + thinner thinking = a slow-motion quality incident ⚠️
The teams who win built human-in-the-loop as a capability, not a checkbox.
⚡ Motivation-fueled sprints are a subscription to starting over.
Pick one method. Run it 14 days. Keep what works.
AI made the output free.
The understanding still compounds. Don't outsource it.
On Aug 2 the EU AI Act's high-risk rules take full effect.
"A human reviewed it" becomes law, not best practice.
The PM's new job: Responsible AI Owner. Speed is a commodity.
Human-in-the-loop is the differentiator.
