Realised we've been neglecting our socials... One thing that comes up in almost every case: most new build developers genuinely don't know how strong your rights are. They're not always being difficult on purpose — they just don't realise you're entitled to choose a financial settlement instead of accepting repairs. Your home is yours. @NSufferer @labcuk The warranty is regulated by @TheFCA and subject to the Financial Ombudsman Service (@financialombuds). Fundamentally they're an insurance company and regulated as such.

@HumphreyLancas1 @Brightside300 @tdhhazel @theJeremyVine Unfortunately that's the problem with modern house building. Quickly built and poor quality. All construction work including housing should be snagged by the builder before being handed over. Nowadays they don't and rely on the NHBC to carry out the snagging that they should do.
@torigrew93 @GazRich88 We moved into ours two months ago - same tale was said to us (different builder) - apparently NHBC guidelines are the pound coin rule of thumb. Best to leave them until near the end of your builder warranty period (1 or 2 years) and get them all done then.

@TaylorWimpey @TaylorWimpeyplc Absolutely no surprise you’ve lost your 5th star (should’ve been more IMO)!! 6 months to get you to agree to rotavate our garden. However the soil is “adequate” according to your construction managers. Full of building rubbish & debris. @NHBC

@NHBC I have insurance from yourself - I am still waiting for issues from 2014 to be fixed - still no timeline to resolve! I feel so let down by yourselves! @Barratt_London know these issues existed 9 months before I moved in...they hid them 😢
@JeremyVineOn5 This is my Bovis garden. Builder promised to fix for six months and then decided to say no...and told me to get NHBC involved. Not had a useable garden since last October 😭😭😭
