Before anyone thinks about shutting down an OPS you might want to consider the impact. More people using outside we have 400-600 visits a day. Also more people will die. If you dont care about that it will have a impact on the healthcare system. More overdoses in alleys in social housing a late responce will likely mean more people in long term care due to a loss of oxygen to the brain.95 % of people who overdose stay in our care so they dont end up in the hospital. We work with Detox and Recovery operaters to get help people get in to recovery. We help people with other emergency services like woundcare. We do pre employment and extensive training to build resumes.
