If Lacob and Dunleavy don't make Klay an offer near his market rate, they'll be rightly criticized for not respecting what he's meant to this team. I think they'll make that level of offer. But that doesn't mean Klay has to take it--or that another team won't top it.

@timkawakami I love Klay, but no way he's worth anything close to 25 Mil a year. A streaky shooter, who takes poor shots, who can't play any D and doesn't rebound? Would love to see him finish his career with Ws, but has to be off the bench for 2/30 mil. Otherwise, no thanks.
@timkawakami you are wrong. Lacob doesn't need to match the offer. fans know that klay is not worth that money. dont build narratives
@timkawakami If Klay starts out cold he’s going to stay cold but Kerr doesn’t recognize that, he should of went away from him yesterday
@timkawakami I don’t understand this whole emotional attachment…… The FO should do what’s best for the franchise moving forward.
@timkawakami A long as it's a decent offer, and it will be, Klay will take it. He's not a chazer. (To use the Latin term.) Love conquers all.
@timkawakami I don’t agree w/“rightly criticized.” The organization stuck w/Klay while paying significant money through the Achilles and ACL injuries. Very few teams, if any, in this league would have “done right” by a player like that.
@timkawakami Is Duncan Robinson avg salary of $18m more in line with what Klay is now? All roads seem to point to a $60m/3 yr range.
@timkawakami Maybe Joe needs to extend Klay an extra season more than they want - as they did Draymond and back load his deal. 4 years $100 million. $20 million, $25 million, $25 million, then a $30 million (team option). Then waive his $30 million in year 4 like cp3.
@timkawakami If Warriors aren't the top offer, would love to see multiple teams bidding to the point someone is willing to do a S&T so that the Warriors can keep a little of his salary slot. Highly unlikely but still hoping.
