@streetsblogkea Good piece. I’d add that some US cities like Portland and Minneapolis with lots of people that commute by bike have wet and cold weather too, but they just have infrastructure that supports it.
@streetsblogkea @modacitylife Nice. I marvel at how wealthy folks can suit up & spend 7 hours out in the snow for a ski day, but shudder at the thought of riding to work or school in the rain. Good gear makes weather tolerable. What's it cost? Well, a household that reduces 1 car saves (on average) $10k/yr.
