@ID_AA_Carmack I would simply say that shallow neural networs were giving similar/identical results to much more lightweight systems (think of kernels/basis transformations). The breakthrough was with *massive* overparameterization. There was no point in brute forcing the MLP architecture.

@corybarlog @inkydojikko Your games are the exception: Sony and few others send review codes very early, weeks ahead, and that is something that make us do our job better (and let us appreciate games more when we work on them). I wish it was this way for every publisher, we usually crunch, unfortunately.
