Pretty interesting that historically, April is the peak month for #tornadoes across Middle Tennessee. However, in the past 12 years (since I've been in #Nashville) the peak month has been...December.
This was by far the deadliest #tornado outbreak in Middle Tennessee’s history. I’ve done extensive research on this historic event, which you can read more about at weather.gov/ohx/19090429

Really cool example of a phenomenon we frequently found prior to sig. tornadoes - a "handoff" of the low-level mesocyclone to a new merger
The sequence of events that led up to the Minden tornado is pretty interesting. We have what looks like 4 discrete cells, only one of which has a low level mesocyclone to speak of. Starts off belonging to the northernmost supercell, but seems to slowly migrate south as the storm…

Hazardous Weather Testbed: Week 1, Day 1 is in full swing! Excited to see what comes of this Spring Forecast Experiment - lots of interesting evaluations of new CAM ensemble guidance, AI model and calibrated guidance, and new mesoanalysis techniques.

Very preliminary bistatic dual-Doppler analysis of the Norman tornado last night! You can clearly see the transition from cyclonic convergence to a full-fledged circulation, plus a peak horizontal wind around 100 kt (~200 m AGL)!
Whoah....this is some seriously gargantuan hail. China does unofficially hold the world record hail diameter record, with a 25cm (10 inch) event. Based on the number of events worldwide we've seen in recent years above 17 cm, it seems rather plausible. #hail

@shamnadoes I was on the plane. It was a United flight from Denver. We literally just sat there. No one was there to dock us as the entire airport was taking cover. Wild.
