@BamaVisualz Exactly! Just like it took an entire generation to find the successor to Bear. Those types of coaches don't just exist all the time. They come every 30 years or so. If the measure of success is the next Saban or next Bear then we are headed for the next Shula.

@buchsbaum_86677 @CrimsonCoverage Exactly! Deboer after 2 years: 20-8, Saban after 2 years: 19-8. Both appeared in SEC championship game after year 2. Not sure what more Deboer needs to do.

Deboer's OL has to be more athletic for his system, Saban wanted massive OLs. His WRs need to be taller and longer. The QB needs to be accurate to throw to a spot (Simpson could do it, Milroe couldnt). Deboer got the best out of players which is why he was in the SEC championship game last year, made the playoffs AND has beat Georgia twice. To get to next level he needs his type of players. That is true of all coaches. Good coaches can win with almost anyone but to win it all you have to have your players. Same was true with Saban in 2007, 2008. He started winning NCs once Julio, Ingram and the others were brought in and got experience.
