this is the only good point in this entire thread on the side of the vegan. well-made. for reference, however, even in industrial farming, a cow’s first 6 months or so is spent with their mothers out in pasture (grass), and then they are separated out to pasture for an additional 6 months (also grass). the final 4-6mo’s are the fattening ones that include the harvested grains (corn, soybean meal, etc.) that you mention. so industrial cattle are about 2/3rds ‘clean’ by this metric and 1/3 ‘doing the same things vegetarians do’ (ie stripping the land of rodents & other small animals that would chow down on their ‘harm-free’ veggies). grass-fed beef is a cultivation-free, protein-dense slice of loveliness. fight it out, but this guy at least sees it clearly.

Terence Tao didn't run this by any biologists before presenting it. We don't know the mechanisms behind most drugs. We do not know exactly how they work, we just know they do or don't work and we continuously monitor to see if anything bad crops up.

@DeeperThrill it’s tough when they can’t do math… which also applies to agents unfortunately. deterministic behavior / accuracy doesn’t seem to be a priority… but 90+% accurate stuff getting generated out of the blue, it’s a tough choice: Build it right, or fix it till it works properly.
