"We built the pyramids!" No "WE" didn't, they did. Taking ownership of the accomplishments of other people simply because they possess the same skin color as you is beyond pathetic.
@_BarringtonII So you don't believe the history, lineage, or accomplishments of a people should have no significant relevance to their modern-day lives and culture?
@robhardyjr @_BarringtonII No, you're begging the question by inserting "accomplishments of a people", which assumes that which is contested. And those were Egyptians, not blacks. And thousands of years ago – there's no cultural connection to today's Egyptians, much less black Americans.
@robhardyjr @_BarringtonII Scientist using DNA found that the ancient Egyptians were most closely related to the peoples of the Near East, particularly from the Levant. This is the Eastern Mediterranean which today includes the countries of Turkey, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.
@robhardyjr @_BarringtonII 1. Black Americans are not Egyptians. Lol. 2. What relevance do pyramids have to your life today? I can almost assure you that most of the items you use and activities you do everyday are of western culture. Ex. Where do you shit?
@robhardyjr @_BarringtonII It can be valuable if you use it as a benchmark for your own actions. Otherwise it operates in the same manner as unearned inheritance. Others will despise you, but never as much as you despise yourself for dishonoring your ancestors.
@robhardyjr @_BarringtonII How? If black Africans built the pyramids - they didn't, but let's pretend they did - so what? How is that relevant to anyone alive today? If my ancestors had a hand in creating Stonehenge 5000 or so years ago, why should I be proud of an accomplishment I had nothing to do with?
@robhardyjr @_BarringtonII The DNA between the Bantu and the Ancient Egyptians separated well before the building of the pyramids.
@robhardyjr @_BarringtonII Actually, no, they shouldn’t. Greater men than I wrote the US Constitution & laid the framework for the “great experiment” we call our government. They were white, I’m white, but I’d never state “we” wrote the constitution. They sacrificed safety & life for what we have.
