Carbohydrates 101 Fructose doesn't spike insulin but still drives insulin resistance, fatty liver, urate production, and the Maillard (browniing/aging) reaction 7-10x that of glucose.
@robertlufkinmd But fruit is fine. I believe it's been a staple for millennia. Seasonal, yes, but also a staple without metabolic consequences.
@robertlufkinmd Where did these doctors go to school??? Meat heals Carbs kill. Pastureland Forever
@robertlufkinmd Two good health improving things about fructose then! Lowering insulin =good. Increased protection against too high insulin = good!!
@robertlufkinmd Just curious Dr Lufkin, I’m T1D and fruit definitely spikes my blood sugar. I can eat 1/4 of a gala apple and my BG jumps 100 or more points. I used to use apples for lows but quit because of this.
@robertlufkinmd It is such a shame most people simply will not listen!!!
@robertlufkinmd Do you have any evidence to support your claims of fructose driving insulin-reistence?
@robertlufkinmd I was talking to a guy at the gym in his 50's diagnosed w/ type 2, and he told me his GP told him a Hershey bar was better than white rice. His GP also apparently told him that sugar-free Monster was ok but sugar-free Red Bull wasn't, so I have no idea what's going on there!
@robertlufkinmd my CT scan (looking for metastasis of a skull base chondrosarcoma) came back yesterday, NAFLD is gone. Thanks #carnivorediet
