When Tucker had his primetime slot on Fox, he served as a successful coordinating mechanism for the Right. He set the agenda with his monologue, shaped the bounds of discourse, and brought in new voices to illustrate specific lines of argument. It will be interesting to see if Tucker, or Fox, can reprise this role, or if it has fragmented online in a more fundamental way.

And, for those wondering, there is a structural, as well as ideological, challenge for Tucker on X. The primetime Fox spot was regular, time-bound, and coordinated the whole movement, offline and online, with the prestige and production of a cable news network behind it. Tucker on X is too fragmented, lacks the nightly rhythm, and the topics have been all over the place, with some serious missteps. I say this as a huge admirer of Tucker's, and hope that he continues to experiment with the format and pick up his role as a coordinator and kingmaker for the Right.
Tucker, sadly, has spent more time trying to be middle of the road Alex Jones and instead looks more and more like Alex Jones. Nothing against Alex, he's just not my conservative conversation cup of tea. Then again, FNC is far far worse making Alex almost seem legit compared to modern Con, Inc. talk radio.
@realchrisrufo @j3lqingt0n I agree. I never know when he's going to be on.
@realchrisrufo One way to start coordinating his stuff is to reduce the number of categories on his site. I can’t keep straight if I want an Encounter, a Censored, and Interview, a short, etc, making it difficult to access content.
@realchrisrufo I've been saying it for years: conservatives keep removing themselves from mainstream positions to exist in a lucrative, but entirely self-contained and easily ignored, RW media ecosyste A substack, X, or offbrand right-wing outlet presence just doesn't reach Joe Normie
@realchrisrufo He doesn’t have a team of people spending time on X to gather centralizing themes. It was very obvious (and people behind the scenes will tell you) that his writers got a lot of content and energy from X accounts. That doesn’t show up in an interview of Kid Rock.
@realchrisrufo Why not start or fund or get behind one of the many similar news shows and make this happen?
@realchrisrufo My elderly parents subscribed to TCN as soon as it went live. I'm inclined to think majority of his loyal Fox audience did the same. They've watched every episode, including the interviews with people they've never heard of, like Kid Rock.
@realchrisrufo What we really need to talk about is how the DeSantis team has soured on @realchrisrufo . Notice the lack of communication between him, DeSantis and.@ChristinaPushaw.
@realchrisrufo I have to disagree. I look forward to the show on an almost nightly basis. It is far superior to Fox. No commercials and the uninterrupted time necessary to address a guest and an issue.
