When Tucker had his primetime slot on Fox, he served as a successful coordinating mechanism for the Right. He set the agenda with his monologue, shaped the bounds of discourse, and brought in new voices to illustrate specific lines of argument. It will be interesting to see if Tucker, or Fox, can reprise this role, or if it has fragmented online in a more fundamental way.

And, for those wondering, there is a structural, as well as ideological, challenge for Tucker on X. The primetime Fox spot was regular, time-bound, and coordinated the whole movement, offline and online, with the prestige and production of a cable news network behind it. Tucker on X is too fragmented, lacks the nightly rhythm, and the topics have been all over the place, with some serious missteps. I say this as a huge admirer of Tucker's, and hope that he continues to experiment with the format and pick up his role as a coordinator and kingmaker for the Right.
@realchrisrufo Dying by the sword is never as pleasant as living by it.
@realchrisrufo Step one - ditch ideological purity tests in favor of a big tent. This is impossible no matter who is coordinating or how fragmented the media channels. Ideological purity breeds extremism, contrary to creating a united opposition to progressive insanity.
@realchrisrufo It sounds a lot like you're lamenting the erosion of gatekeeping and gatekeepers, which is letting in narratives that you don't approve of.
@realchrisrufo The problem is you and your Communist ideology and the large number of people saying "no thanks, I like to do my own thinking." How are you not getting this by now?
@realchrisrufo Fox is becoming more beige, in market terms it's less differentiated than it has been in the past. I see no replacement on the horizon.
@realchrisrufo Respectfully, I don’t think your analysis of what’s happened to the Right is very sound. Tucker is symptomatic of the problems, not the solution to them.
You miss your regular spot on cable w the establishment GOP network. Now you're stuck wading through opinions you don't like in areas that are not central to critical race theory and you have decided to promote intolerance over people opposing certain foreign funding-- with our tax money and without our approval. Taxation is theft. Those being stolen from can comment freely on the mismanagement
@realchrisrufo I can declare myself Queen and we can unite under me. The kids need something to believe in
