@lpachter If that dataset is based on fairy tales, then the specialized AI will also be limited to generate fairy tales, and it will not be able to synthesize a dragon in a test tube, or to cook , or to drive your car.
@lpachter So, in the case of biology, a foundational model could be an AI that is able to perform genomic analysis, protein structure prediction, drug discovery, etc. One could use this foundational model and specialize it in blue-tailed dragons by training it additionally on that dataset.
