There's a few sons who are planning to look after their parents, but it's mostly women. Who probably already take care of so many. I feel like the topic of your parents getting older should be a much larger conversation culturally.

I know our generation makes more money than our parents. But some of us are from very poor places, some of our families put their love and hope into us and we fought and clawed our way from where we started. Many of us are going to be caretakers whether we plan for it or not.
I recently sat down with a financial planner and it was extremely helpful. Now I have more questions to ask when we meet next in a few months.
For folks in their 20's & 30's; Would you pay into a fund to help take care of your parents as they get older? Paying for unexpected bills and needs they have so it doesn't have to come out of your pocket all at once? Just workshopping some thoughts.

Honestly no. I think this would be good for those of us in this age group making higher incomes but as someone who brings in under $100k, thatās not an investment thatās on my mind right now

Yes. Especially now that they have an added misfortune of being targets for scammers this could come in handy for emergencies like that also

@raymahl it would be like bright futures, but for parents. interesting!
@raymahl 100% true I just donāt see how creating something that already doesnāt work well the way it stands as a viable option. Maybe an investment fund, something that generates its own revenue. But then again still sounds the same. Real question is how will be sustainable.
