You are right about Pradhan and it will be opposition's political win, and they may come for the next target. But the bigger risk is ignoring the NEET and CBSE mess. Lakhs of students, many of them first-time voters, and their families are already angry with how the government has handled it. Vyapam isn’t that distant in memory, people still remember it. Sometimes taking the hit early is less damaging than letting resentment build which India cannot afford at all.

A recent Madras High Court decision in Elgi Ultra Pvt. Ltd. v. Harish Joshi is a striking example. The case concerned a patented pressure cooker invention where an individual posted comments on the business’s Facebook promotional post, claiming the invention as his own. The Court restrained him from making derogatory or defamatory statements relating to the patent and imposed costs of ₹200000. For Indian patent holders, that is the important part. If someone publicly attacks your granted patent in a way that can affect the market reputation of your product, this decision is worth noting. But the situation also carries a clear message for the other side. If someone genuinely believes that an Indian patent has been granted over an invention that was theirs, there are proper legal ways to challenge it. Depending on the case, that may include a post grant opposition or a revocation proceeding. What they should avoid is treating social media as a forum for deciding that dispute. The belief that the patent covers your invention may be genuine, but bypassing the legal route for a social media callout could easily backfire. Patent attorneys are weirdly patient with half-formed thoughts. Founder fumbling words. Scientist circling. Designer saying 'this probably doesn't matter but…' They just wait. Turns out the important part is often the last one to arrive.

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗹? You secure design protection for a product in its early commercial form.
