La récolte des signature pour l'initiative pour l'intégrité numérique à Zurich a été la plus inspirante à laquelle j'ai participer. Les citoyens sont très vite touchés par les thèmes de l'initiative digitale-integritaet.ch Il existe une réelle anxiété de la population face à la perte de contrôle de leur vie numérique. Et pour la 1ère fois, on leur donne l'espoir d'un changement. Dans le Canton de Neuchâtel, on vote le 24 Novembre sur l'ajout de ce droit dans la Constitution suite au vote historique de Genève, le 18 Juin 2023 avec 94% de oui. Bravo à l'équipe de @PiratenZH et autres venus aider.

L'anonymat est le moyen de défense ultime de l'individu à l'ère du numérique. L'ancien régime ne l'acceptera jamais. Seules les institutions qui accepteront de protéger le droit à l'anonymat pourront survivre sans l'usage de la force.

Three weeks ago I wrote an article on the EU's new AMLR in @BitcoinMagazine, detailing how the EU passed ALM laws restricting the use of Bitcoin privacy tools without any data to back up their claims that privacy heightens money laundering and terrorist financing risks. @StachAlex took it a step further and ran the numbers. For every Euro confiscated, 200€ are spent. This means that the EU's AML compliance costs of 144B Euro exceeds all money ascribed to crime per year at 110B Euro – and still, 99% of criminal profits escape confiscation. Despite their absolute inefficiency AML laws continue to be expanded, subjecting all EU citizens to total financial surveillance for the price of catching 1%. It is a system that has grown completely out of control and is in no way proportionate to the right to privacy enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. It's a long read, and its in French so you'll need to translate it, but I guarantee that it will be worth every minute of your time. Cubans often attribute the failures of their regime to the USA, while Palestinians frequently blame Israel for their own difficulties. However, when examining these situations closely, it becomes clear that alternative realities exist. For instance, Miami and Dubai serve as successful examples that demonstrate how internal politics, rather than external factors, contribute to the failure of regions such as Cuba and Palestine. In Miami, the Cuban diaspora prospers under a system that promotes economic freedom and entrepreneurship. The robust legal framework here supports personal and economic liberties, fostering an environment that is conducive to growth and prosperity. Similarly, in Dubai, the Arab population enjoys the benefits of a politically stable environment. Policies here encourage economic development, entrepreneurship, and modernization, while concurrently respecting Arab traditions. Contrastingly, Cuba operates under a rigid, state-controlled economic system that suppresses individual freedoms and economic opportunities. In the Palestinian territories, political instability and a deep-seated, corrupt network of socio-political factors contribute to economic hardships and societal challenges. Both governments in Cuba and in Palestinian territories have a longstanding pattern of blaming their misfortunes on the USA and Israel, respectively. While it's tempting to blame a nation's struggles on external factors, the reality is often more complex. While Cubans frequently cite U.S. embargo policies as the root cause of their problems, they neglect the fact that they still have the entire world as potential trading partners. The same logic applies to Palestine. Despite receiving the most aid per capita globally, Palestinians have not leveraged this assistance to improve their economic condition significantly. They are also free to trade with the Arab world and even with Israel, yet they remain mired in a cycle of self-pity and hatred. In one case, they blame the "gringo," and in the other, the "Jew". It's worth noting that there has not been a single Jew in Gaza since 2005 and the settlers in the West Bank have been net contributors to its economy. Looking towards the future, with a potential regime change, I envision a thriving Cuba resembling Miami and a prosperous Palestine akin to the Emirates. This transformation will require a generational shift from self-victimization to hard work. The USA would undoubtedly welcome a Miami-style Cuban community, and Israel would be thrilled to see a Dubai-like community in Palestine. However, until then, we will continue to hear cries of "Cuba Libre!" and "Free Palestine!" from leftists worldwide who seemingly relish blaming the USA and Israel for all ills.
